What I Didn’t Like:
- The different POVs have very similar voices. There’s not much to distinguish between them.
- There’s a moment where the mystery section of the story gets an ending. That part feels like pulling a punch, it’s unsatisfactory and dull. The book isn’t over, but that might bother some readers.
- You don’t get EVERY question answered. Personally, I love endings like this but I know not everyone does.
What I Did Like:
- Joy. Her personality and thought processes are amazing. I found myself laughing out loud and loving this woman.
- The banter and the internal monologues are amazing. All of these characters are relatable. I adored them all! I could relate to most of them in their most vulnerable moments. It’s really about characters written in the best way.
- The mystery builds in a pleasing way. I was completely invested in what happened. Even after the mystery ends, the ending of the story is wonderful. You sort of languish in this beautiful contemporary family story you’ve found yourself in, completely enthralled by these characters.
Who Should Read This One:
- Fans of contemporary family dramas. This one is beautifully written.
