What I Didn’t Like:

• Some typographical or grammatical errors. Nothing overly distracting. You can easily figure out what was meant.
• Some of the dialogue is a bit awkward. There are also dialogue tags that are unneeded and repetitive. 
• The ending leads directly into the sequel without a lot of resolution. If that bothers you, be aware. 

What I Did Like:

• The main character is great. She’s a strong badass who doesn’t apologize for who she is or what she’s done. She has a clear purpose. 
• The back half of the story moves FAST and leads beautifully into the sequel. It’s captivating.
• Found family! Easily my favorite trope. This time it’s combined with a sort of reluctant grump who doesn’t want family, which somehow makes it even better. Loved the way this crew came together. 

Who Should Read This One:

• Fans of found family reluctant hero stories who want a bad ass grumpy girl as their main character. 
• Space future fans. This book involves planetary travel, technology, and an empire. Excellent for space fans.
