Adult Dark Romance, 2023 by Blackthorn Books, 524 Pages
What I Didn’t Like:
- The way that Niko talked and spoke to everyone, including himself was odd. There were times when Niko was so in touch and sensitive but then his language would turn almost childish and those times were just odd to read.
- Although I loved it, there was a predictability to what was going to happen. Some of the ways that Bran reacted to things made it noticeable what the revelation would be. Couldn’t have imagined it going down the way it did though.
What I Did Like:
- I enjoy the way that Rina writes the books in this series so that as we go we are able to see the scenes popping up again and we get them from a new perspective. Being able to track how the stories link up adds an additional level while reading.
- Bran is probably one of my favorite characters. I love the growth in Bran and him learning to love himself and accept himself was just fantastic. He is such an all around good character.
- The relationship that both these main characters had with their parents. Sometimes, in the case of mental health, we see the characters have awful relationships with their parents and I actually enjoyed the relationship that Bran and Niko had with their parents.
Who Should Read This One:
- Fans of dark romance books would like this, although I wouldn’t consider it super dark there are some triggers to be aware of.
- This is a MM Romance, so anyone looking for an up and down, twistful MM relationship would enjoy this.
