What I Didn’t Like:
- This is a minor thing, but as a bookseller it bothered me. You’re a library with an entire display by an author but you claim the books are “impossible to keep in stock”. Where did the display come from then? It’s even mentioned that you have one of every title in the series. Why aren’t they checked out?
- The teenage character was a bit cliche. I would like to see her grow and change more, but maybe that can happen in later books in the series.
- Some of the twists felt a little ridiculous, but they were also fun so that’s forgivable.
What I Did Like:
- Adorable vibe. This one manages to give off cute little small town vibes despite the murder mystery.
- Great main character. She’s a curious writer who has stumbled into real world situations that her research has led her to know a lot about. She’s fun and engaging! Plus, I like her parenting style!
- I adore a character who can admit they’re wrong in a mystery! If you’re confronted with new evidence, you follow that evidence. This was packed with characters who do that.
Who Should Read This One:
- Fans of cozy little mysteries who like that small town vibe!
My Rating: 4 Stars
- Worth the read! I’ll be looking into the others in the series, for sure.
