What I Didn’t Like:
- There were some times where some of the descriptions, what Mercy was thinking especially, were a little too cheesy for me.
- The side characters are not my favorite in this one, the woman especially. It shows a big contrast between them and Mercy but i just could have gone without the way they act.
What I Did Like:
- I listened to the audiobook and it was FIRE in this one. Alex Kydd sounds exactly as i would expect Gabriel and Ada Sinclair does an amazing job going between the vulnerability that Mercy has and the tough attitude she needs.
- I am a sucker for a character redemption and Gabriel definitely has one. We see glimpses of it in the book but at the end we definitely know that he is going to try, and it’s such a perfect ending.
- Being that this takes place in AZ (my homestate) i loved that The descriptions were so accurate and well thought out. Also actual places were used , Camelback mountain being a focal point in this one and that view is definitely breathtaking so hearing it described well was perfect.
Who Should Read This One:
Romance readers who are okay with a little darkness would enjoy this one.
