A Science Fiction, Independently Published in 2024, 500 Pages
What I Didn’t Like:
- The entire setup is scary although brilliant. The idea that something like this could be given a green light is terrifying. The readers must not allow themselves to focus on that, since this wasn’t supposed to be a horror story.
- Mirri is tough to read. The parts of her that you relate to or understand are so infrequent. Instead, you find yourself frustrated and angry with her.
What I Did Like:
- Captivating. I read the entirety of Part 1 in a day, practically in a single sitting. It is CAPTIVATING. From the details to the projects, this one had me under a spell. What a fantastic premise!
- Big themes are there for the taking. The subtle nods to AI and loneliness in a world connected by devices is powerful.
- The ending is satisfying and perfect. Emotional, powerful, and exactly the right length. I found enough answers to satisfy me but also have things I will keep thinking about.
Who Should Read This One:
- Science fiction fans, this is brilliantly original. Highly recommended.
- Readers of any genre who like stories that explore big themes and are packed with characters you’ll connect with easily.
My Rating: 5 Stars
- The story woven here is original, creative, captivating, and beautiful. Highly recommended.
