What I Didn’t Like:
- You could argue that this one is too short. You’ll want more story, more time with the characters.
- It does set some unrealistic expectations for authors answering letters. Be warned if you use this with kiddos, you’ll need to address that.
What I Did Like:
- All the feels. I’m a huge poetry fan and this captures why really well. This one gives you all the feels in just a few short poems.
- Fun formatting! I especially like the idea of the poet wanting white space and lamenting missing white space. So important!
- Character growth. I wasn’t expecting that from a poetry story, but this one shows the growth from someone who didn’t want to write poetry to a proud poet!
Who Should Read This One:
- This is perfect for poetry fans.
- EXCELLENT for teaching poetry! If you’re a 4th-8th grade poetry teacher, GET THIS ONE for your collection.
My Rating: 4 Stars
- Exactly what I wanted. The perfect little poetry book.
