Fiction Recommendation Experts

2025 Book Review: Icarus

by H.G. Ahedi

A Science Fiction, Independently Published in 2022, 500 Pages

What I Didn’t Like:

  • For some reason, this one was REALLY tough to drop back into. I felt lost even after re-reading my notes and the final chapter of book 2. There are a lot of moving parts here and a lot of characters, it’s a lot to keep track of.
  • Some grammatical or typographical errors. Things like craved instead of carved, his when the author meant hers. Things you could easily figure out with a second read. This is problematic though since rereading lines or paragraphs can be frustrating.
  • There are some unnecessary details and scenes here, cutting them may have streamlined some of the plot.

What I Did Like:

  • Science kept in science fiction. As it was in the previous books, the author kept some of the science in the books. It’s always nice to have that as it lends an air of realism to the story.
  • Good characters are back. At this point in the series you have your favorites and can really enjoy their part of the story.
  • Well written multi-POV. You jump from character to character yet the jumps aren’t confusing. Instead, they keep the story moving.

Who Should Read This One:

  • Scifi fans who like science left in the story, multiPOV books, and high stakes.

My Rating: 3 Stars
