What I Didn’t Like:

Content warning: Sexual assault, torture.
The dates in front of the chapters were something that instantly fell out of my brain. It’s a personal thing, I’m sure, but I don’t keep track of those. I hope they weren’t important.
Chapter 40 sort of spoils Chapter 41’s sense of danger and thrill. Maybe they’re out of order?

There are a lot of suspects and moving parts to this one but they’re relatively easy to keep track of. The story has appropriate tension and pacing.
Detectives Wyatt and Cord are well written and have a good working relationship. I appreciate that the author keeps this platonic, even while rarely including their respective spouses.
The case itself is intriguing. There were parts I didn’t have all figured out until the end, which is always good in a mystery.

Fans of detective mysteries involving dark cases will like this one. Note: this is the second in a series featuring the same detective but you really don’t HAVE to read them in order.
