What I Didn’t Like:
- Very little recap on what happened in Book 1. If you’re not reading these back-to-back take a little time to remind yourself what happened in Book 1 first.
- Some typographical or grammatical errors. They are easy to figure out and don’t detract from the story.
- There’s not a lot of action on this one. Compared to the first, it’s slow moving. Everything here is necessary but it’s worth noting the slower pace.
- The characters here have multiple names they’re known by (it’s a time travel thing) and that can get a bit confusing.
What I Did Like:
- The characters are still amazing, even in their new timeline and roles (time travel complicates things).
- The deceptions, reveals, and secrets all make for a compelling story.
- This one is definitely building to an explosive third book. A lot of pieces snap into place here, prepping the reader for something great in the finale.
Who Should Read This One:
- Scifi fans who like strong characters and plots with lots of twists and paths may like this series (start with The Quest).
