2025 Book Review: Haunted Arizona

by Charles A Stansfield Jr

A Nonfiction, 2020 by Globe Pequot, 168 Pages

What I Didn’t Like:

  • Incomplete stories. I wanted more details than we got. Each of these is light, a tiny introduction, inviting you to perhaps research more.
  • Some typographical or grammatical errors. They’re not overly distracting since it is possible to figure out the intended meaning.
  • In a book this small, you wouldn’t expect duplicates. You definitely wouldn’t expect the same fact to be offered twice: and be different each time. Unfortunately, in the 2 times Bigfoot comes up, that happens.

What I Did Like:

  • Some original stories. As a fan of paranormal stuff who lives in Arizona, I expected this book to be full of stories I knew. Instead, some were original.
  • A focus on UFOs isn’t exactly what I came to this book expecting but those were handled with respect and I applaud that.
  • Well researched. The book gives the impression that the author spoke to or visited many paranormal sites around Arizona and the research is well done.

Who Should Read This One:

  • Anyone who wants a few quick paragraphs about many of our paranormal rumors in Arizona will enjoy this one. Consider it an overview.

My Rating: 2 Stars

  • While I appreciate the content and the research, the lack of detail and the grammatical errors were problematic for me.
