What I Didn’t Like:
- I didn’t like Malcolm in this one. Ok, he wasn’t my favorite in the first one but in this one my distrust of him grew and multiplied. He’s like a walking red flag.
- Alice shunning Kate and her life hurt. While it makes sense and I can see why she does it, I find it incredibly sad and want to wake her up to what she’s doing.
- A very small amount (maybe 2) of grammatical or typographical errors.
What I Did Like:
- The characters continue to be relatable and fun, a good blend of what you know of Alice in Wonderland and new vibes. Chase is still a favorite.
- The Dark Forest really added tension to the story. It’s well written, almost as if it becomes a character of its own.
- The ending works to lead up to book 3 in a great way! You have some resolution but a lot to work out.
Who Should Read This One:
- Fans of YA fantasy who like Alice in Wonderland and big casts. Start with Trapped in Wonderland though, this doesn’t stand alone.
