What I Didn’t Like:
- The text itself is pretty dry. Basic facts, no fluff. This can be good but it also makes for a slow read.
- Although this is intended, the short introduction to each person feels like it’s just not enough. I wanted a bit more depth.
- The challenges at the end of each woman range from quick to very in depth. I found it interesting that they weren’t equal or balanced.
What I Did Like:
- This is intended to be an introduction to these 100 women and it does that. You aren’t getting a LOT of anyone’s story but you may find someone you want to explore more on your own.
- Attention is given to proper pronouns and respectful discussions of everyone’s accomplishments in a positive way. I appreciated that.
- Connections are made between some of the women, which is great for cross researching.
Who Should Read This One:
- This would be a great book to have in a history class, specifically one where teachers often do research projects. This is a ready made introduction with quick facts for 100 women in history!
