A Mystery/Thriller, 2024 by Minotaur Books, 342 Pages
What I Didn’t Like:
- The footnotes hinting at things to come got a bit annoying. As a whole, I didn’t mind the footnotes, but I was reading a physical book. On a Kindle they’d be a different story.
- I always think pop culture name dropping in a story is odd. It dates the story and it comes off as “you cool kids like these things” which I know is silly. Anyway, personal ick, but this one has that.
- I figured most of it out really early. I hoped I was wrong and then I wasn’t.
What I Did Like:
- Funny! As I hoped from the title, this one makes you laugh. I loved the sense of humor.
- The characters have good banter. I liked how different they all came across even though most of them are in the same profession. It gives it a little more personality.
- The old school Clue movie vibes were fun!
Who Should Read This One:
- Mystery fans who like a cozy type mystery with humor that feels lighthearted even when there’s deaths.
