What I Didn’t Like:
- Dimensia felt like a cheap trick to use the “bad memory” card. It wasn’t well written and that bothered me.
- If you’re not a fan of the miscommunication or “one conversation could have fixed this problem” trope, you may want to skip this one. It’s not the MAIN problem that could have been solved, but it definitely comes up.
- Repetitive. From rehashing old mistakes to retracing steps, there are some repetitive moments in this one.
What I Did Like:
- The mystery of the deaths is compelling enough to keep you searching. The best clues are the ones found in the searching that wasn’t technically allowed, which gave the whole thing a fun sort of cagey element.
- Well plotted. Things unravel at a speed that lets you linger with what you’ve learned and develop new theories. Then, when you can’t wait any more, something more comes.
- Satisfying ending. No spoilers but it’s incredibly realistic for the story we were telling.
Who Should Read This One:
- Fans of cold case mystery stories where characters dig back into the past to solve something will like this one best.
