2026 Book Review: Take Me With You

by Andrea Gibson

A Poetry, 2018 by Penguin Publishing, 200 Pages

What I Didn’t Like:

  • Some of the sentiments were cringy, but I guess that’s typical. We all have cringy thoughts sometimes.
  • Sometimes this feels more like reading random thoughts in a journal than poetry.
  • Quick and seemingly random. Even with the loose connections (sections) this has very little connection or flow from one to the other.

What I Did Like:

  • I love poetry. Coming at this from a poetry angle, it does have delightful use of the space and emotional tugs. I did appreciate that!
  • Many pages have poignant language that will speak to your soul. Many make you feel seen.
  • Quick. Easy to sneak a section in on a break. Perfect for bite sized reading sessions.

Who Should Read This One:

  • Poetry fans, especially ones who have that burning desire to just read someone’s journal or thoughts at will. It’s raw and rough, but that’s its charm.

My Rating: 3 Stars
