2026 Book Review: Lust

by Amylynn Bright

A Fantasy, Independently Published in 2023, 374 Pages

What I Didn’t Like:

  • Some grammatical or typographical errors. Nothing extreme that distracted from the story or couldn’t be easily figured out.
  • Sort of content warnings: this is the second in a series. It’s not intended to be read alone and is a continuation of the series. You’ll want to start with Wrath to get the full story.
  • Asher throwing money around wasn’t my favorite. I kept finding myself wondering how much he really had or how much those things cost. He literally didn’t care. That bugged me.

What I Did Like:

  • These characters are fantastic. Asher and Eva, obviously, take a front seat here and I adored them both. Eva is strong willed, determined, and a perfect counter to Asher’s almost cocky attitude. Asher, on the other hand, is definitely more than he appears. They’re adorable.
  • As it was in the first one, this premise is wonderful. The idea that the 7 deadly sins are embodied by 7 eldest sons is just awesome. The way the little details of that plays out is satisfying and well done.
  • This led into book 3 well. By the end of the book you feel like Asher’s part of the story has concluded and it’s Benji’s turn. Perfect!

Who Should Read This One:

  • Romantasy fans, this is a spicy romance featuring literal embodiments of the seven deadly sins!
  • Fantasy (mythology) fans this series does a great job of bringing together the seven deadly sins, levels of hell, and other pieces.

My Rating: 4 Stars
