A Science Fiction, 2021 by Iocusia Press, 252 Pages
What I Didn’t Like:
- The main character is referred to by name a bit too often (like instead of pronouns). It’s a tiny thing and you get used to it quickly.
- Part of this story revolves around the hatred for android technology and that part is very realistic. Although it would’ve been hard to write, I do think one POV that agrees with the banning or problems would’ve made this book stronger. Even if they, presumably, change their mind in the end.
- That ending was … I’m not even sure what that was. It needed more or less. It ended at a really rough spot. I assume this is sequel building?
What I Did Like:
- The premise of this book plays on current studies, technology, and concerns. It’s just outside the realm of possibility now, which is my favorite kind of tech Scifi.
- The characters are all relatable and believable. You can understand how the people represented here ended up in these kinds of relationships. It adds to the story.
- The political undercurrent of the story was not lost on me. Again, it adds something to the story, making it even more realistic.
Who Should Read This One:
- Readers who want to be reading tech Scifi where the tech is cutting edge and related to ours.
