2026 Book Review: Ravening

by Kendrai Meeks

A Fantasy, 2048 by Tulipe Noire Press, 344 Pages

What I Didn’t Like:

  • Not really a negative, but worth noting. This is the third book in a series and is not intended to be read alone. You’ll need to read the first two to really understand this one. There’s not much of a recap to help you either.
  • I don’t know why it didn’t bother me in the first two but this time around the focus on Geri’s love life was too much. It grated on me. This girl has SO MUCH going on and SO MANY serious things to worry about but all anyone can focus on is her relationship status and who she is (or isn’t) sleeping with.
  • The opening of this one was a bit slow. It spent some time repeating things and had a sort of drag on the plot.

What I Did Like:

  • This was the slowest of slow burns. 3 books before they realize how they feel and kiss? Was it worth the wait? Maybe. The next book will be the true test. I do love them as an adorable couple though.
  • The ending gave good surprises, lots of answers, and led into the next book.
  • Amy sort of came into her own in this book. She didn’t have much personality in the first two, relegated to a funny sidekick character. But in this one I started to see some of her personality coming through. She’s still in the background but she’s not as hazy. I’m hoping for a bigger role in the next book!

Who Should Read This One:

  • Fans of the first ones, obviously.
  • If you like a paranormal story to explore myths of vampires and werewolves in unique and interesting ways, this is a good series.

My Rating: 3 Stars
