2026 Book Review: Morsel

by Carter Keane

A Horror, 2026 by Tor Nightfire, 198 Pages

What I Didn’t Like:

  • Abrupt ending. You’re left wondering how this is sustainable and what comes next.
  • Some unanswered questions. The kinds that linger and come to you just as you’re drifting off to sleep at night.
  • Gross and gory. Not really a problem for most horror fans but consider yourself warned.

What I Did Like:

  • Great vibe! Appalachian woods, things you can’t explain, and danger all combine to make a tense story that moves at a rapid pace.
  • Relatable main character. She’s just an average girl, experiencing the challenges of life. She’s funny, she reacts like you’d probably react, and you can see yourself being friends will her.
  • Shocking twists and reveals that work! No spoilers but this isn’t a cookie cutter story.

Who Should Read This One:

  • Horror fans, this is a quick and well written one.

My Rating: 3 Stars
