A Mystery/Thriller, 2026 by Harper, 343 Pages
What I Didn’t Like:
- There is a rather large cast introduced all at once. In the beginning, it can be a little tricky to keep everyone straight.
- A few of the twists are predictable. Not all of them but still some. No spoilers.
- While I appreciated the nod to some of the unusual parts of writing (co-authors, new authors, and others) I would’ve liked to see things that were less cliche play a bigger role.
What I Did Like:
- The backstory on each character is brilliant. Revealed at just the right time to add tension, brings the story together in a perfect way, and makes all the characters feel realistic and flushed out.
- The overall premise is just ridiculous enough to be entirely believable and wonderful.
- The ending is perfect. In a story like this there’s a lot of opportunity to ruin the ending and this book does a good job of tying it up nicely in a way that makes you happy.
Who Should Read This One:
- Fans of mystery stories with lots of twists that keep you on your toes.
