What I Didn’t Like:

• From this perspective, Teal and Sage read different, harsher. I understand shifting perspectives, but this felt unearned. 
• In general, this book was lower stakes than the other two. Sage’s book had the Sky mystery, Teal’s book had her reclaiming her power. Sky’s book is missing that essential mystery component. It made the book feel unbalanced. It also required it to heavily lean on the romance plot, forcing the fantasy component and the sisters component to back burners. 
• The food and clothing (who wore what and who ate what) was cumbersome. I remember it featuring in previous books a little but this time it felt too heavy and too emphasized for no real reason. 

What I Did Like:

• The Old God references were consistent, matched with Sky’s character, and added to the story. I appreciated that angle.
• The animal gift was well highlighted here in fun ways. I appreciated the sort of match her energy vibe they had and the emphasis on how Sky would never ask them to do something they didn’t want to do. Very cool! 
• While predictable, the text conversation through the Match service was a cute angle.

Who Should Read This One:

• Fans of the series thus far will come for Sky’s story because she deserves her own romance too.

My Rating: 3 Stars

• This one had no choice but to lean heavily into the romance because the fantasy angles were wrapped up in the first two books.
