What I Didn’t Like:
- There were some very heavy nods to horror movies/stories. She did put a spin on them, but there were three references that immediately took me out of this story and into those ones.
What I Did Like:
- I listened to the audiobook version of this and the narration is perfection. This was a duet narration, which is what I personally prefer when the book is written in dual POV. The narrators really captured the characters and it added so much to this listen.
- The relationship between these two is definitely a slow burn, but it s absolutely worth it. This gave the reader a chance to get to know each character separately and although I had a favorite character they both were so well written that I really felt immersed in the story.
- The banter and comedy in this was 5 star. I was laughing from the beginning, literally at the content warnings. This may have been the way the narrators delivered it but it was so great. The banter continued through the entire book between Sloane and Rowan, I was laughing and horrified and intrigued throught the entire book.
Who Should Read This One: Anyone who can handle a little thrill, some definite dark scenes, a work for it kind of love and some detailed spicy scenes. You’re gonna love this!
My Rating: 5 stars
